A Perfect Morning For Running - RunLog 8-28-15

Getting back to what I love to write about - how my run went.

This morning was about as perfect a day for running, as I will find up heah in Maine. The only thing that I didn't like about my run this morning was the time I had to do it. We had the UMA kick-off breakfast this morning and I had to be to work for 8:00 AM, which meant Bennie and I had to run at 5:45 AM.

I think that most everyone who has read my blog over the past few years, knows my feelings on running that early - not all that enjoyable. However, if there is a good enough reason to get up and get it done - I do.

Well...this morning was a good enough reason to get my butt out there and do it.

We started out easy and just ran for most of the run.

Strava Stats 8-28-15
Originally, I thought that we would just do 3.0 miles, but it was so gorgeous that we both wanted to go further. Even though it looks as though it wasn't a consistent effort, there are a lot of Bennie stops in there that took away the appearance of any consistency.

Bennie was more like Bennie this morning and he wanted to do his tug-o-war a lot more often, which is good because it means he is feeling full of piss and vinegar, but it is a pain-in-the ass for me and trying to keep a good pace going, when he is pulling me side-ways or backwards.

Still I prefer this Bennie to blah Bennie.

Just a perfect day to get out and have a good morning run - even if it was too damn early ;-)

I did run in the Clifton's for the first time in a while and know why I love them so much, but at the same time, running in them today reminded me how close they are to not be shoes I can not run in, due to how narrow they are. Oh well, I can run in them, but I just can't forget about that right foot and focus on running like I can in the Torin's, which is why I got the Altra's - the added width in the toe box.
