The Last Run of 2015 - RunLog 12-31-15

This post was written for and first appeared on One Foot In Reality.

It is hard to believe that this was the last run of 2015, a year of many changes and one that I will remember well.

It has stopped snowing, the sun is out and the roads are a bit slushy, but down-back was just snow. You know, the kind that feels like you are running on the dunes section of the beach. Where no matter how much you want to run fast - you ain't gonna.

Instead of fighting what Mother Nature put in front of us, we just went along with her plans for us. Go a little slower, enjoy the moment and savor finishing out the year.

I did have a choice to make either finish with 2001 miles or get 140 miles for December, I chose to go with the 2001 and make it a Run Odyssey (such nerd - I know), so I ended up with 139 miles for the month and broke my streak of 140 miles every month in 2015. hehehehe

Oh well.

Bennie and I did enjoy this run, he was bouncing Bennie the whole way and we even picked up the pace once, before my hamstrings let me know that running fast on that kind of snow was not a smart move, so we didn't do that again. :-)

I will have more to say about 2015 in my end of year reflection, but until then.

I hope you had as good a year as I did and that you end it with a run that you can look back on and say - "I got this".

Have a Happy New Year and enjoy the life you live, it is the only one you have.
Yes, I know - I should be smiling :-), Just the way it works sometimes.

  1. haha - 2001 miles for an odyssey finish :) Love it!

I think you had a great year - learned many things, made many changes, but still kept on 'being Harold' ... which makes me happy!

I had a great year in running and basically every aspect of my life where I really care. Sadly there are areas I have pruned back on through the years, but that is just how life goes. But for my crew, 2015 was pretty amazing in terms of progress, health and time together. I am really looking forward to what 2016 can bring us!

Look forward to your recap and look ahead to 2016!

    1. Thank you Mike, yeah I am a nerd ;-), I just became more me - if that is possible.

I do miss your blog and how you wrote about your running exploits, but understand why you did stop, just can't do everything. I am glad that you continued to participate in Social Media and continue to share parts of your life with us. :-)

I have a feeling that 2016 is going to be a great year for us all.
