Now today was one of those days.
It started out with snow, that turned to freezing rain, which made a wholly mess right when Bennie and I wanted to run!!!!
Screw shoes were definitely the story today. Those old N2 Roads with the screws in the bottom made it so that I was upright most of the run - we will get into why I went down later.
Yeah, there was lots of slushy, ice with the tar section hiding lots of black ice - instead of just tar. You know that stuff that forms after multiple days of subzero temps and you get that wonderful thing called water on top of it suddenly.
Even so we did pretty well considering the conditions and the idea that I couldn't wear my glasses, that old almost being blind thing being better than fogged up/rained on glasses.
Bennie was being a brat and wanted to play tug-o-war from about 1.5 to 2.5. He let me know all about how slow and that I was being completely unreasonable about not letting him play. The big problem with him doing the tug-o-war on this stuff was that I already had gone down once when he tugged at the wrong time and went ass over teakettle (that is that big dip)
I just didn't feel like kissing the road again. :-) Damn dawg.
Overall, it was a pretty good run for the conditions, but I ran out of time and didn't do the 4th mile.
