I hope that I am not annoying people too much as, I bring over some old posts from my other running blogs, but after a couple months of thinking about what I want this blog to be and how I will use the old ones - it became very clear it was necessary.
It does mean that I have to go to edit each blog post and copy/paste it to Blogger, clean up whatever doesn't look right and then (hopefully) post it to the correct date. Don't worry you are not going to get 4 years of my running log posts, but I do plan to bring forward some of the better posts, shoe reviews, race recaps and other posts that were important to me.
So I apologize up front for all the extra "stuff" you will be getting from me, as I catch things up.
Let's get back to running.
This morning's run...hmmmm
I wasn't sure about how it was going to go, it was still only around 35*F when we left the house and Bennie wasn't all gung-ho about it either. He was more interested in the sniffs and other things than he was getting a good run in.
As you can tell from the first mile, we didn't exactly set the world on fire out there.
Actually, when I finally did look at the graph, I was surprised at how consistent it was (it will never be great, when I run with Bennie) and surprised that I got my 3rd best time coming back up the Bitch.
Although I did purposely attempt to maintain a harder pace up the hill, still it was over 10:00 minute pace and I should be consistently down in the 8:00 to 9:00 minute pace range all the way up that hill. Oh well, I ain't there yet, but I will be.
Gotta Stay Positive.
By the time we finished, the sun was coming out and it was starting to get a bit warmer, but when you got into the headwind or shadows, it was still - not warm.
I even looked at down-back after we finished. Not runnable for a while - is the verdict. It is worse now, than before they back-dragged it. The boys and their toys 4-wheeled on it before it froze again and made a freaking mess of it.
Looking at down-back this morning - after yesterday's mini ice storm. By this afternoon this had all melted and it was a muddy-ass mess.
Oh well, I was young once and stove up more than a couple of vehicles wheeling, so I can't bitch about them too much, but I do anyway ;-).
Don't do as I did, do as I say kind of thing ain't it.
