Recovery Day and New Racing Flats - RunLog 5-2-16

This post was written for and first appeared on One Foot In Reality.

The first run this morning was the beginning of the rain and it was a raw day 41*F and light misty rain makes for a chilly run. After yesterdays long run I decided that I really wanted to do a good recovery run this morning, so I left the watch and GPS stuff off, and ran naked (no electronics)

It felt good, no pressure to see a certain time at the end.

We just ran, stopped when Bennie needed to and then kept plugging along. I figure that I ran at around a 9:30 pace and the legs were tired, but needed to get out and move this morning.

Run #2

By the time it was lunch time for me, it was pouring outside. I had a very limited time frame to get a run in, so I headed to the UMA gym and ran on the treadmill. I got on their finger, trigger roller and that seemed to loosen up the legs quite a bit, but they were still pretty crispy from yesterday.

This is still a recovery day, so I kept it at a steady 7.2 mph for the entire run, although I was tempted to pop it up to 7.6 mph for the last mile, but I was good and kept it steady for the whole 3.0 miles.

A nothing special run, but still an important one, because I didn't do anything stoopid and just ran comfortably.

The other news was that the Nike Streak LT3's were waiting for me when I got home. A nice looking shoe and felt really good when I put it on. The one thing that I am not crazy about is the tongue, it makes sure that you have the lacing just right and if you do not your upper foot will tell you pretty quick.

Otherwise, I like the fit and can't wait to get a run in them, to see how they feel running.
