Reasonable humidity levels means a nice run and a great day to be outside.
Time of Day:
12 MPH NW
Planned Distance: 5.0
Type of Run: Something longer, but comfortable effort
Ran with: myself
Course: Planet Fitness - Hospital Loop
6:59 - 6:40
Notes/Observations about the run:
What a difference the storms that came through last made! Although they went right around us, the humidity was out of the air and it was/is a delightful day in my opinion at least.
I wanted to do something a little different and still get something close to 5.0 miles in. So I used a little of the comp time I have accumulated to take a longer lunch. I was not expecting the 12-20 mph breeze heading out, but the temps were nice and I wasn't out to run faster, just finish the distance.
I ran through the VA Cemetery and then in front of Maine General. Yeah, this is the hill over there, it is better coming down it ;-). Unfortunately, I had to go up it and it was against that breeze, not real bad, but enough to make it a pain.
Once I got back on Outer Civic Center Drive the wind was at my back, so that was nicer. I still didn't try to pick up the pace all that much, just kept moving at a steady pace.
Not one of my faster or better runs, but it was a nice consistent run.
Definitely not ready to do the 8K at Quarry Road.
Aches and Pains:
Left Leg - I tried wearing a pair of my 4mm drop running shoes to work and my left leg bothered a little more than usual, so after running, I just kept on my Nike's and the leg didn't bother as much??? So I won't be wearing them again for a while. The leg did get in the way of my stride a little more during the run, but nothing all that bad.
Hamstrings - a little more sore than usual today, but once I got past the first mile I didn't think about them. The right one is bothering more right now.
Shoes Used:Nike LunarGlide 7
No issues, just comfortable.
