Happy Easter everyone and I hope that everyone is healthy, stays healthy and that we all made good choices throughout the day.
The good thing was that the sun was shining, it was warm enough to wear shorts and the steady breeze was at my back for about half the run. That I actually got off my butt and ran, even though I didn't have a bit of motivation to get out the door at all and ended up getting in 5.0 miles. Not the fastest run I have ever done, but the miles got done.
Last Friday was a pretty tough day, we got 15+" inches of heavy, wet, snow that needed to be moved around in the morning and then that afternoon, I had to do the garage roof and the edges of SD2's roof, which meant that by the end of the day I had 23,000+ steps, without running at all. Way too much effort and using a big, heavy snowblower, shovel or roof rake. All this, while in the back of my mind the worry and stress of not having power since the night before and we wouldn't get it back until almost noon on Saturday.
Running our generator and small woodstove, meant that we were safe, but you still have to keep them fueled, so relaxing it was not. Once we got power back on Saturday afternoon, it meant a lot of cleaning and picking up. By the time we got all that done, I sat down and fell asleep for almost 2 hours. I was just totally exhausted physically and mentally.
At some point, I will have to finish taking down the tree in the back yard.
Today was spent getting ready for Monday's storm, so the stress level is going back up because with the high winds forecast, they are expecting more power outages, so we are preparing for that probability again. Just part of the deal or at least so it seems, this year.
Sometimes, you just gotta keep smiling and putting one foot in front of the other. It is the only way to keep moving forward and that is the only choice we have. :-)
